I'll Move In!

I got outside today even though it was chilly. My son put up a bird house for me. I was hoping a blue bird would spot it and move in so I could watch her.

Instead, while I was sitting and looking at it, along came a Purple Martin. We didn't get the apartment house put up for them, but that didn't seem to matter to this one. She sat on the wires looking down at me and the new house.

It didn't take long for her to prop herself on top of the hook I have up to put the hummingbird feeder on. She didn't seem to care that I was sitting a few feet away.

I watched her for an hour while she filled up the box with dead grass and fabric strips I had hung on the fence.

She's beautiful. Welcome home Purple Martin!

I love it! You've got such a great view with the open area around you.

Holee, I love birds. This is so great - I cannot believe you were so close and were able to watch all the action. I am jealous.

Oh Holee, that's so cool. I bet she's nice and comfy with all the fabric scraps.

How great is that. I have a bird house that the same pair comes back now for about 3 years. They are tiny birds though.

Nice photos Holee. I too enjoy my birds at the window.
