Scraps

After making the French Braid I had a pile of scraps. What to do? Toss them or save them? After looking at the huge tote filled with scraps I decided to try and use them for 3 mini quilts I have agreed to trade. Now, what pattern to use?

What could be better then a French Braid! Now I have the 3 mini's to trade and the rest of the scraps will go into a handbag I have planned. Now to sandwich them and finish.

Happy Easter Flower

My son always, for as long as I can remember, buys me a pink Hyacinth for Easter. He searched all over San Antonio Texas and found one group of sickly flowers. Instead he bought me this beautiful Orchid. Thanks Dave, it's just so pretty!

Let it Snowman Quilt

I've had this quilt top made for many years and never finished it. I have a friend who has been very kind to me even when I'm not feeling good or moody from the prednisone I have to take sometimes that makes me out right nasty. She really loves snowmen so this was the week to put this quilt together and send it off to her.

Since I have 3 totes filled with unfinished projects I've decided not to buy anymore fabric unless I need it to finish one of the projects. I'm on a roll! Now to work on the Flower Garden Quilt or the French Braid Quilt.

French Braid Quilt Top finished

This is a huge quilt and today it's very windy but I did my best to take  photo's. I think it's striking! My son loves it and that matters. Now to move onto the quilting since I now how 3 ready to sandwich and finish.

French braid and Zoo fun

I've been trying to get the ladies to finish up the mini swap. I've added more of the quilts they made and more will be coming soon.

I have been working on a French Braid quilt that my Friend Sherry posted on her blog.

I hope to get this top finished by early next week.

The weather has been so beautiful that we went on a trip to the Zoo. The butterfly house was so much fun! Butterflies were very friendly and sat all over us.

Then we went to feed the Lories...what fun!

And other animals

The bald Eagles were shot and can no longer fly. They have found a home at the San Antonio Zoo. What a fabulous bird!
