While I had the All Modern Give away posted, I didn't post so they could be seen at the top of the blog. Then, I got busy packing to move. I think an up date is in order.
First, when my son returned to work, instead of a pink slip they moved him into engineering. He won't complain since so many got the pink slip, but he is not happy with this job. He can't create anything, lot of paper and approving things...just not what he's made of. No team to share lunch with or throw a pizza party for when they do a good job. But again, he still has a job.
The job he wants is in another State. He was hired for it and then it got put on hold as the economy got worse. That puts us in a position where we don't want to stay in this house because we almost froze last winter and we are not sure if or when we will have to rip ourselves up again.
I want to do some thank you's for some nice mail surprises that came recently. First, Ali from
http://shogunsworld.blogspot.com/, sent me a birthday card and some very different beads for Crazy Quilting. Thank you Ali, the birds are hanging on my kitchen frig.
My friend Kathy from
http://www.shawkl.com/, sent me a beautiful crazy quilted pincushion. Thank you Kathy. When I get unpacked, I have some fancy old hat pins to display in this work of art.
Also, I got this wonderful package of playfull animal blocks from Tom, over at:
http://quiltingandcarving.blogspot.com/, Thank you Tom. They will find their way into something for children's Christmas surprises. I'm thinking maybe for the Easter Seal kids wheelchair bags.
Although my sewing room is packed up to move, I am set up on the dining room table and have been working on some Christmas items I need for gifts.
These are for door/wall hangings I am making for some special Christmas gifts. They will hang against a quilted background of shades of greens. This is a calendar hanging. You change out from pumpkin to turkey to Santa as the months pass.
I also need to post the rug I won but it's still in the box and right now found a hiding place among all the other boxes...so that will have to wait a little while.
If I'm missing for a few days, it's only because I'm stuck with the task of packing up the kitchen.

You say that you have your dinning room table set up to sew, like that's a novel thing. We actually eat at ours one meal a year, Thanksgiving....The rest of the time it/s puzzles and some fabric cutting.....
I don't envy you the chore of moving, but know you'll appreciate having a warmer house this winter.
We could be moving in a few years so I know what you are going through. I don't envy you as I'm not looking forward to my move. Still these things happen for a reason.
I'm glad your son still has a job. He's in the same position Mal was. In work but not doing what he loves to do. We were lucky in that another job came along. Hang on in there as I'm positive there's something for your son out here.
Love and hugs Gina xxx
So glad to see a posting!
Wow Holee I don't envy you moving but I don't want you to freeze either. I have missed seeing you on your blog but glad you are back.

We eat in the kitchen since the Dining room table is setup with my sewing and his computer repairs.
We only eat at if for Holidays.
Good to see ya posting, I dislike moving.
To answer your question square size would work the projects are fairly small.
Are you staying in PA? I hope you're feeling better since your bee stings. I don't think we will ever move from here. It's almost paid off! About three more years and we'll be real home owners. I hope your new place is warmer in the winter for you. I don't like being cold either.
