Crazy Quilt blocks

It's been a long time since I joined a swap or traded. So many people make excuses why they didn't finish or they just say nothing, take your work and go missing.

I decided to not give up on people yet and joined a Monochromatic crazy quilt block round robin. It's only a 14 inch block, none of my work is on it yet so if it goes missing or unfinished it won't matter.

Four people will work on this block. I am using neutrals. White to tan to gold.

The first block coming to me will be a non traditional crazy quilt block. She is using a quilt block instead.

I've pulled my blues. I need to order some very light blue silk ribbon so it shows up on this block.

Her block is only 8 inches by 10 inches. I started with a one inch blue bird made out of french knots. He'll need a tree limb to sit on and pretty silk ribbon flowers, lots of beads and who knows what else will fly onto this block!

Buttons...I love buttons! I don't need any since I have many blue quart mason jars filled with buttons. But a lady on line sells vintage buttons and every time I go to her site I get caught up in the buttons! Here is half of my $5. order that came yesterday. Aren't they pretty!

Bea,
Such a pretty quilt block you'll be working on. Lovely fabric. Sweet little bird will be just perfect! And the buttons. Did not know of a vintage site so I will be visiting it shortly. Thanks for sharing.

Bea, I am thrilled and honored that you are giving CQ RRs another try...with us! I am hoping for a lot of fun in our groups as the blocks move around.

What's the little white frame? Sort of a template of where you'll be adding things? You do beautiful work, I'll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
