HGTV HEART BLOCKS

The ladies on HGTV quilting board really care about each other. We support each other in happy times and sad times. A week ago Friday one of our quilters lost her son and toddler grandson in a car accident.

The ladies will be sending me Heart blocks to make 2 quilts for our quilter and her daughter in law. I will put together 2 tops and send them with the backing to one of our longarm quilters in California. I guess they will come back to me one more time for binding before given to our friends. It's not much, but we hope they will find some comfort in knowing we are thinking of them.

I can smell the Turkey cooking!

It's been a long hard few weeks. I still don't have electric to my sewing room, but there has been no time for sewing anyway.

Finally I have a stove in place. No kitchen, no cabinets, no wall or ceiling, no sink or dishwasher, but I have a plywood floor and a stove! It's not new, it's not fancy and it's not even hooked to electric yet, but getting this far seemed impossible a few weeks ago. Ya gotta take what you can get!

I spent the morning going through about 100 or so boxes. I found pots and glass dishes and most important...The Turkey Pan!

This coming Sunday my son will run electric, might even get to the electric for the heat in his bedroom and the sewing room! For now, it just feels good having the stove in place!

Sheri Howard Give A Way

I only had a few minutes to look at some of my favorite blogs. I clicked on Sheri Howard's blog http://sherimhoward.blogspot.com/2009/11/one-year-give-way.html and saw her wonderful Give A Way for one year of posting.

She is giving away her new book, signed and a bag of scraps she used in making the quilt.



You all know RED is my favorite color and dolls are my favorite past time. Wheels began turning the second I looked at her Ruby Red Dots quilt. For some reason it just reminds me of one of my old dolls, maybe it's because the doll wears a red dotted dress. I can just see her bed adorned with a mini quilt made from the scraps.
