Flowers make me feel happy
My Christmas Poinsettia is still giving pleasure, the Amaryllis is done with flowering but I still get to enjoy a pretty plant until it takes a rest and the bucket holds my new Angel Wing Vine that will soon take over the entire bucket. Flowers make me smile!

Just a little progress...
I guess I'm working backwards on this attic sewing room. Curtains at the windows make me feel like I did something so yesterday I hung my light and hung curtains on 2 windows.
I'm also working on an old china closet we got at auction for holding my fabric's. I don't know why anyone would paint something so cute battleship gray but in the end it will be white. I'm going to try and get rid of all my plastic storage. I think it makes everything stink.
I also have an old Lane record cabinet I took apart and will hinge the door differently and paint it maybe vaseoline green or something very light.

Never too early to think Spring....
Today a little fog, some rain and a free ice balls but we want to make sure we are ready for that first big grass growth! It was a big hurry this morning to clean out some of the garage so we could store our new lawn tractor...little did we know that it would come sitting on 2 pallets stacked on top of each other. For a while it gave us a hard time just trying to figure out how to get the darn crate off but a rip saw took care of that in a hurry.

Maybe it's time
Considering the mess I have in the attic, I decided to go through one box at a time. Maybe it's time to get rid of some things. Just how many houses can I build at my age? I put these in groups and decided these are just not the kind of doll houses I like to build so even though some of this stuff is neat, I might be able to let it go...maybe.
The 60's/70's stuff is really funny. There is even 2 records in the record sleeves. I better not look at this stuff too long or it will go back in the boxes and I'll still have it.
I have 3 full totes labeled "Doll house furniture"....Yep, I think it's time to give some of it up.

Where to begin
Maybe I'm just tired from all the moving or maybe I'm lost in the sea of stuff. I would think I should be happy to have this bright attic space all to myself and get to work on putting it together. Instead I go to the attic and sit in a chair and get a feeling of I give up.
Maybe it's the cloudy weather, I hope! I have a stack of mending and a bag of new homespun fabric to make curtains and not one space to set up a machine. MOJO...where are you???

New Years Day Ride
I thought I'd take you along on a ride to Quarryville, Pa on New Years Day for an Amish Christmas Dinner. The Amish have Christmas dinners right through January and sometimes into February. We were invited for dinner at the Smucker Home.
The Day was overcast and very January looking. It's not a religious Holiday so many were busy with regular work, laundry and such but I saw many carriages gathered at homes so there were many Christmas Dinners being shared.
OOPS...an accident sent us on a detour...lost on the country roads that all look alike we got out the Garman.
Back on track with a familiar covered bridge
We arrive at the Smucker home for some GOOT homemade sauerkraut and pork...always on New Years for Goot Luck for the year!
Hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did! Happy New Year!
